Fed: Holiday road toll remains at 41

It's been almost 24 hours since any fatalities have been reported on Australia's roads .. with the national holiday road toll staying at 41.

The last death was in Queensland about 10 last night (AEST) .. when a woman in her 50s was struck by a car on the Bruce Highway about 50 kilometres south of Rockhampton.

Her death took Queensland's holiday road toll to nine.

But Victoria still tops the toll with 11 deaths .. Western Australia also has nine .. and NSW eight.

There have been three deaths in the Northern Territory and one in South Australia .. while Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory remain fatality free.
